Current projects of the Foundation:

Assisting the state authorities in developing and implementing economic reforms
Since its inception the Foundation has been cooperating with the Verkhovna Rada Committees and the Government in developing and promoting draft laws aimed at improving the investment climate of the country, in particular:

• Draft Law on Agricultural Land Market
• Draft Law on Public Private Partnership
• Draft Law on Self-Regulatory Organizations
• Agenda for lifting administrative barriers to doing business
• Draft Law on Reducing Number of Licenses
• Draft Law on Restoring Debtor’s Solvency or Declaring It Bankrupt
• Draft Law on Joint-Stock Companies

Some of these draft laws have been approved by the Verkhovna Rada and are now in effect.
The main role of the Foundation in developing and implementing the economic reforms is to bring high-quality content, the world’s best practices and expertise. To support the economic reforms projects, the Foundation invites the leading international consultancies, renowned experts and high-profile lawyers.

Annual
study of the competitiveness of Ukraine's regions is implemented by the Foundation in partnership with the World Economic Forum (WEF) according to its methodology that underlies the WEF’s annual Global Competitiveness Report. The WEF has been analyzing Ukraine’s competitiveness since 1997. Since 2008, due to the Foundation’s support, Ukraine has got the competitiveness ranking of individual regions along with its global ranking. In 2008, the project covered twelve Ukrainian regions and will cover all Ukrainian regions in 2011.

Assisting Ukraine's regions in developing and implementing economic growth strategies is being implemented by the Foundation in partnership with international consultancy Monitor Group and in close cooperation with local governments. The project is being realized in Ukraine for the first time ever. To carry it out and apply the best international practices in Ukraine, Monitor Group was chosen following a transparent tender procedure. The company has an extensive record in realization of the projects that target to improve the economic competitiveness of regions.
A background for realization of the regional economic development project was the study of Ukraine's competitiveness implemented by the Foundation in partnership with the World Economic Forum. Following regional discussions and meetings with local governments, the Foundation and Monitor Group analyzed 27 Ukrainian regions and selected two – Donetsk region for the regional economic development project and Lviv – for the city economic development project. In September 2010, the Foundation started devising the economic development strategy for the third region - Dnepropetrovsk oblast.
In 2011, the Foundation helped prepare Kyiv City development strategy to 2025.

Public debates on important topics of economic and business development in Ukraine
The goal of public debates is to raise awareness of Ukrainian citizens about the most urgent economic challenges facing Ukraine and to form the culture of debating with a constructive discussion based on persuasive arguments. The Foundation is implementing the project in partnership with a British company Intelligence Squared, which has a long and successful history of arranging similar debates in Great Britain, the USA, Australia and other countries. Among the guests there are opinion leaders, experts, politicians, representatives of the government, mass media and public organizations.
In 2009- 2010, the motions for the debates included: farm land market, tax reform, relations between Ukraine and Russia, competitiveness of higher education system, reasonability of special economic zones establishment, development of innovations and new technologies and perspectives of tourism development
