Regional Competitiveness: Recommendations for Local Leadership

To undertake relevant analytical research in regions aspects and to prepare comprehensive recommendations for local authorities on improving business environment in their regions the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine has embarked upon a new project focusing on Regional Competitiveness. This new initiative is being undertaken in conjunction with the Foundation for Effective Governance and is designed to develop more competitive regions in Ukraine. The regions used for pilot case studies include Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv, Odessa and Kherson.

Regional Competitiveness is a new stage of research within the framework of the analytical project "Partnership for Successfully Competing in the Global Economy" launched by the ACC to increase Ukraine's competitiveness in the midst of the recent global financial crisis.

The project is a special analytical working product of the Chamber developed in conjunction with the Chamber Board of Directors, Committees and Working Groups in cooperation with numerous respected analysts and experts with the primary goal to join key policy makers and the private sector in building a strong and competitive Ukrainian economy at the national level.
